Extra space in post when sidebar is disabled?

Hello,

I noticed that when I’m writing posts using the backend editor, if I choose to disable the sidebar for that particular post there ends up being some extra space and an unnecessary border on the left side like this:

I’m having issues displaying the pic in this post (it’s on Imgur), but the link ishere.

If you look at where the body text begins, it’s indented a bit and also has this vertical line or border. How can I get rid of that + the indentation when I’m writing posts?

Hi

Please provide a link where I can inspect this closer so I can get back to you with a more accurate answer.
Thanks!

I circled the area in red – basically there’s an extra indentation as well as a vertical line right before the text begins. This happens when I’m writing a post and decide to disable the sidebar (post is full-width) and use elements in the backend editor like rows.

Hi

Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and testy again. If you still can’t manage to solve this issue please provide your site url so I can inspect this closer.

Thanks!

Hi, I did as you said but it didn’t work unfortunately. My site URL is http://www.zensleeping.com, I made a test post that shows the problem and the URL is http://www.zensleeping.com/test-post-2

Thanks a lot for your help.

EDIT: weirdly enough the issue doesn’t occur for new pages, only posts. Maybe that info will help you…

Hi

I’ve checked your post and noticed that you’re using a text block from Visual Composer to add the text on post content: http://screencast.com/t/fxvXTwTldTqf The theme was not designed to work with Visual Composer on posts, only on pages. Try to deactivate the Visual Composer from posts: http://screencast.com/t/m0bezy4MamN clear all caches and test again.

Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

So if I want to use any of the Visual Composer elements like charts, rows, different width columns etc, I can only do so in pages? Or is there a way to do this in posts as well without using VC (other than using shortcodes)?

Hi

You can use elements from Visual Composer in posts but there might be a change to appear some issues with the layout and some additional customizations might be required in order to be displayed fine. If you don’t use Visual Composer the only way to add such elements on posts it’s by creating them in html.
This is a task which require many customizations and unfortunately we can’t provide custom services at the moment. If you still need guidance on this or you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you.

Thanks!
