Hi, I’m working through the theme right now and i’ve created a few category pages that will be a “main parent category page” with sub categories as a part of it. What i’m looking to do is make the sub categories that are children to the main parent category page appear as some kind of a navigation so when users go to the main category page they will immediately have the children categories available to navigate too.

Unfortunately our theme does not have such an option, but there is the mega-menu feature: https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/ so you will have the navigation inside the menu.

Also, teamfi, perhaps you could consider manually creating a separate page for the parent category? That would give you lots of flexibility for organizing and displaying the sub-categories. Might work well if you don’t have too many parent categories to worry about.
Oasontu, thank you! Yes that is exactly what we are trying to do right now but it seems their are limitations to making a custom category page. Would I be able to make a custom category page look just like a theme supplied “category template” page?

Unfortunately the category template (the top part that includes the category tags) cannot be replicated in visual composer. That part was created specifically for the category archives.
