Hi

I am not sure I understand your issue so please provide more specific details about this so I can have a closer look to it and get back to you with a more accurate answer.

Hi Andrei,
When visitors to my blog say they like any of my articles (you can see at the top of any of my articles) this information does not reach my facebook page, ie facebook counter remains unchanged. Plesase check this image: http://i63.tinypic.com/30naxq0.jpg
Thanks!

I believe the FB box counts how many people like your “FB page” — not how many people “like one article” — two different things.

Perhaps that isn’t what your issue was, but based on the screen shot that looks like the issue.

(( I don’t work here … ))

Hi

@TheZugzwangBlog
As @Chris pointed the like button from article top/button count the likes number for each individual post, not for your facebook page. You can use theme’s social counter plugin if you want to offer the visitors the opportunity to directly like your facebook page. More details about social counter and its setup can be found in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial/

I hope this help.
Thanks!

@Andrei – thanks for the clarification. However, can you help me understand how the “likes” at the top of a post are translated into likes of the posts on my FB page (if at all). As far as I can tell, this does not translate into a like on the same post on my FB page (the user would have to navigate to my FB page, find the article and click “like” again).

More specifically, when someone clicks the “like” button at the top of a post, what happens? Is it registered within FB at all?

For reference, my site is http://www.moodlenews.com and my fb page is fb.com/moodlenews

Hi

The like button works like this:
– if you share a post from your site on fb all likes received by that post will also be visible on your site. For example let’s if a post have 10 likes on facebook that number will also be visible on your site.
– if a visitor like your post on your site, not on facebook, the number will also be increased. Hoover if a post have 10 likes and you share it on facebook those likes won’t appear on facebook, only on your site.

Hope this helps.
Thanks!

Hi Andrei,
I’ve carefully read your reply about how post’s like counters work but, in my case it doesn’t work as you’ve explained. For example, please take a look at this post : as you can see, it was shared on our official fb page https://www.facebook.com/NTR24.tv (please see http://screencast.com/t/dn1yQSTL) right after its publishing on the blog http://www.ntr24.tv (please see http://screencast.com/t/6NFPoyYc9zE). Since both the blog publishing time and fb post sharing time are coincident (i.e. 8 April at 12:12), the fb like counter on the blog post page and the post like counter on the fb official page should be identical and that is not the case as you can see from here http://screencast.com/t/N2DlTn45f: why?
Thanks in advance for any appreciated help.

Giuseppe

Hi

Facebook count likes this way:
– if you share a post on fb and 10 people likes that post, the like’s number will be visible on facebook and also on your site. You should see 10 likes on facebook and 10 likes on your site.
– if another 15 visitors likes your post on your site the numbers will be like this: 25 likes on the site and still 10 likes on facebook. Facebook does not update the likes number received by a post from external sources, by external sources I mean your site, it only counts the likes received from the moment that post has been shared.

Thanks!
