Problem with sidebar and home page in child theme

Hello. I have a problem with the static home page in the child theme, but don’t find a solution. In the Child Theme all pages and styles work correctly, but not the home page. In the home page (static page from Word Press, with Visual Composer) don’t appear the sidebar. In the Child Theme copy there are all files required, in the admin panel all sections are configurated with the same options of the parent theme, but in the home page, only, the sidebar don’t appear and do not work it the proportions 2/3 and 1/3 indicated in visual composer. After two days of trying I decided, for the moment, to renounce from using the theme child, though, having made several changes, it would be important to use it. Instead in the theme Parents all works well, also the home page. Do you have some idea? Maybe I missed something … bye, thanks

Hi,
The main problem that is causing trouble with child theme sis they have to be updated too once in a while. If you updated the theme and not your child theme, then this type of errors can happen as the code in the main theme gets updated. Please remove your child theme and create a new one using the basic one we provide in the theme package here: http://screencast.com/t/uYkcPnaq6uvO
Recreate your modifications as well with your new child theme and it should work as expected. Also please mind your modifications as incorrect code also creates errors.
A child theme is not update proof. If ta certain file gets replaced with an update, and you still use the old file in your child theme it will cause elements to ‘break’.
Thank you!

Thank Bodgan for your answer, but i activeted the child theme before the last theme update. In meantime, i written at the author of plugin that i use for to create the child theme. He answer me that Visual composer is loading after the parent stylesheet. He has added a temporary workaround and it is working for now, and he will try to put a permanent fix in the functions file. For the moment it works perfectly. I thinked that this information is useful also for you, because is a plugin rather used

Hi,
Normally we do not recommend using plugins at all for the child theme. We have our own guide to create the child theme as it takes only a few steps to create it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Thank you!
