Having a problem with a plugin which works on many other themes but not with Newspaper.
When I create a list of players and they appear on the page within Newspaper, when I click the players photo it normally links to the page of the player – but with Newspaper it tries to open the image but says its not found.

Can you tell me how to fix this issue so it links to the players page like the 5 other themes I use rather than a lightbox popup in your theme.

Please try to check the general image option from your Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/ArIag0mC6aAf and try to disable this.

This doesn’t work either. The plugin is called “Sportspress” by ThemeBoy – its strange that the players all appear fine on all other themes I use the plugin with but its trying to open a lightbox whenever any of the players photos are clicked – but it doesn’t even find a picture when the lightbox opens. It seems like it might be a little glitch with the theme.

Unfortunately, this type of plugin is not tested with our theme and we have no idea about the behaviour of the theme with this type of plugin and also, we cannot say for sure that this will be working fine with our theme, sorry! Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please keep in mind that this plugin can interact with the theme and can cause a lot of unknown issues in the theme and we cannot provide support for untested plugins.

I have spoke to the plugin developer and they are saying its an issue with either lightbox or your general modal image feature.
I noticed a few other users have had a similar problem with the “The image #1 could not be loaded” – how do I fix this issue as its a theme problem if other users have had the same issue.
Do you have any coding suggestions?
or is there a way to do what you suggested for posts with the MODAL IMAGE feature but sitewide – for all settings rather than just posts?

Please notice that the light box image is not working with external URL, sorry! If you are using the General modal, please try to disable from the Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/ArIag0mC6aAf I have added this issue to our list of fixes and we will consider in the future update.

I have already disabled it, I told you this already. The problem is the theme has a major fault with images (search google with the theme name and the image could not be displayed) there is tons of people having the same problem.
It would be fine if the image actually displayed when you clicked on it and the lightbox pops up but it doesn’t work nor a link doesn’t work. It needs to be fixed as soon as possible.
I have numerous clients wanting to use this theme and plugin and I can’t agree to take on the work until this issue has been resolved.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but our Lightbox does not work with any external link or link in the caption but only with image URL. Our lightbox was created to work with our theme only. It was not tested with any other plugins or sliders. The lightbox is a very sensible element and even if you set an external link to your images it will break. It needs to link to the specific image URL to work, but for some reason, this does not happen with your post slider. Unfortunately, this plugin is not tested to work with our theme so we cannot guarantee it will work properly. If you cannot manage to get the lightbox to work with the post slider, you can try to use another lightbox plugin and disable the theme lightbox. (Not official but I did try https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-lightbox-2/ and it seems to work)
