Hi! Your theme “broke” my side by side images positioning. Any hint?

With Newspaper theme:

With Previous theme:

Hi,
This will happen on every theme change. Not all themes have the same layouts and theme width. Both your images have a width of 391 pixels so both will occupy 782 px. unfortunately the post container is only 696 pixels wide and there is no place for them to fit side by side. That is why they fall on under the other. This is one of the “risks” when switching themes. You will have to edit the posts and re-position the image in the mce editor and re-size them so they can fit properly.
Thank you!

Bogdan, I am afraid you are confusing something. I am aware of the width problem, and that is NOT the problem. In my previous theme, the total available width was 600px so all images were under that.

I am not sure where you got the info of 391px width but it’s not accurate. This is the width of those images:
532px × 800px (scaled to 260px × 391px).

Hi,
That is the size the images that the browser inspector shows: http://screencast.com/t/IcrgtpruGb This is the size rendered on screen at the moment and that is why they do not fit.
Please try to edit the post and re-size the images from wordpress and align the images side by side using the MCE editor.
Thank you!

Now I am really puzzled. Your screenshots are correct and show the values I just said: width 260 px height 391 px.

So… what’s the problem? 🙂 Why would the height of the image influence the side by side positioning?

Hello Torgut,

If you want to align these two pictures you can do it from your visual editor, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/GZuWsxeee9j Here you can see the initial situation when you add your pictures ->as you can see these are not alignment. For your first image, you have to give the left align, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/ITQrsPFXo and the result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/K4yodfXs8y

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the message!

Hi… er… no no no, that’s definitely not the way to go. That will align the images on the left. NOT wanted.

Even if that was OK, that would mean going all through the website and change all the occurrences manually. NOT good. And I am considering this theme for another website with almost 1000 posts. Definitely not good.

Even if it doesn’t really matter – because the solution is not really a solution – the result you obtained would be also unacceptable: the right image is not top aligned with the left image

As you can see in my previous theme for this same website, there should be a right way to obtain the right result:
http://www.visitar-praga.com.pt/tres-dias-em-praga/2/

It’s definitely not a width issue (still do0n’t know where Bogdan got the idea that images were too wide….)

By the way, this article pretty much describes how to do this in what I think are normal conditions. That’s how I did it in the previous theme and I assumed it was standard:

I am sorry for insisting but this issue is really critical to me.

Hi,
Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can inspect the photos ourselves and see why they do not position properly. Please also provide another post with side by side images so we can see the default positioning.
Thank you!
