1) Mobile view headline: image white background/ “rest” black as page still loads – how can I make it all white?
2) Both on the start pages/ category archives it shows 2 artciles in a line, fine! but every 2nd line, only 1 artciles appears. how can I make it all “2-liners”?

I have checked your website URL and I saw the color switching in your header and also, I saw that you have speed booster to the active mode that moves the js and stylesheet file in the footer, the process that could cause this flash. Please notice that the CSS working in cascade and the first time take the code from style.css that is black and then take the color that you have changed from Theme panel that is white and practically this flash is generated by this cause. As a workaround, you have to check your style.css and try to add directly in this file your desired value of color, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/6NUCthcBGI
For you second request, please provide more details about what you want to change because I do not understand very good what you mean. Also, please provide a useful screenshot in this regard so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

If you use the search widget, you get only 3 results on the page as well. this means that you have your post limit set to 3 in the wordpress settings here: http://screencast.com/t/Yn3PkRCBLytS
That number affects multiple area of the site including the search and category pages. Your category has a load more pagination that appears after every 3 posts.
