You can change it on 3 columns but will affect entire modules. You can try it and see if work correctly.

For block works only if you use the full layout in visual composer and use the Default template with sidebar that force the layout on 2 columns.

I’ve changed the setting according to your solution.
But I get this problem:
1. The slider is not a full width slider
2. The slider image is above the frame with empty space below the image
How can I make the slider above the sidebar & content?
3. The width is no longer 3/4 + 1/4 , making the sidebar too wide and the content place too small.
Is that possible to have 3/4 + 1/4?
I can see that you have 1/4 + 3/4 in the layout setting, can you add one more in the future template update?
