Missing Category Selection Box
WP Dashboard – posts – cats – One of my categories has no checkbox beside it.

Category Articles (the one with the missing check/selection box) aren’t showing on my home page
That category (on a magazine that I think is a custom post type) has been told to show via Visual Composer
does work but doesn’t show the post (magazine issue) i’ve been trying to see.
I would appreciate any help you can give me about any of these issues. I’m not a pro by any means so please break it down for me.

Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test again. If the problem is still there you can also switch to a default wp-theme and test again.

For the missing checkbox for the category “Articles”, I found that the reason for this was because “Articles” was set as a default category and default categories can’t be deleted.
Regarding the custom post type “Magazines” posts not showing together with regular posts, it was a visual composer setting where I had to click “edit” on the Visual Composer block where the posts would show, clicking the “filter” tab and specifying the custom post type in the field “Post Type”.
