Hi support,
When using Newspaper 7.01 with the latest version of Internet Explorer 11 (on Windows 10) I’m getting a very strange visual error. My site isn’t live yet, so I’ve created a small video for you to see for yourselves (linked below).
http://galacticbrain.com/Internet-explorer-newspaper-problem.mp4
Basically, every time the page loads, it appears that the mobile menu is trying to open – and it flashes across the header section, travelling right to left. Happens on every page load. Doesn’t matter what page is opened.
I’ve tried uninstalling all plugins (leaving only the ones you recommend) but this hasn’t fixed it. I’ve also removed any custom CSS, cleared caches, etc., all without success. I’m not running the mobile theme, just your inbuilt responsive menu in version 7. I also don’t use Visual Composer, so I know that’s not the cause. The site works fine on all other browsers.
Have you seen anything like this before in IE? Any suggestions? Is there any way I can override the mobile menu loading initially? If you think this is the cause? Have been trying to fix for awhile now and am completely stumped!
Any help appreciated. I can send you admin access if you need a closer look. I’m hoping it’s something you’ve seen before.
Thanks,
John
Hello bowman9991,
Please notice that our theme has been tested with all type of browsers and it does not seem to appear this type of issue. Please try our demo here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ and see this error do not appear on our demo. This is the original behaviour for our theme…so, please try to check all your theme settings and you should try to revert all of them to the default state to rule out any errors. Please notice that as long as this error does not happen for our demo means that the problem is on your side. As a verification, please try to make a new fresh install and check if this problem appears or not. Also, if you are using the CDN, please try to purge all CDN file, clear all your caches and test it again.
Thank you for your understanding!
I wasn’t criticising your theme. I know it has been tested on multiple browsers. I was hoping for some suggestions or advice from the theme experts (or from others who use the theme). As I explained in the email, I’ve tried removing all modifications I made, clearing caches, resetting to defaults, etc. etc. etc. Not using a CDN.
I know the error “is on my side”. I’m just asking for help! As people do when they come to forums 🙂 I am a web developer, but I have come to a dead end.
Given what you have seen in the video, can you make any suggestions, other than to rebuild everything again from scratch to see if it fixes the problem? I could rebuild it all and still have the same problem.
Given the way IE 11 works with your theme, are there any suggestions you can think of (specifically for IE browsers) that may resolve this type of issue?
Thanks!
John
Hello bowman9991,
It is a little bit strange this issue. If you have ensured that this type of problem does not come from your untested plugins, cache, etc… please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect your setup page. Also, please provide the FTP access so we can deeper investigate your backend. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you for your understanding!
Cheers Catalin,
I’ve sent details to the contact@tagdiv.com
I’ve tried it with and without the Maintenance mode plugin.
The only plugins I am running are:

Contact Form 7
Let me know if you find anything.
Many thanks
John
