Hi Support,
please check this url: http://vira.hu/
Thumbnail images are in good quality and sharp on mobile phones like Galaxy S4.
On this url however: http://vira.hu/uj-cimoldal/
Thumbnail images (especially smaller thumbnails) are not sharp, so it is clear that it is not optimized for Retina displays.
Is it possible to solve this issue somehow?
The new mobile theme is not an option, I would like to customize the page better.
Thanks & Regards,
szedmaktom
Hello szedmaktom,
Please notice that in our theme is optimized only the logo for Retina Display and not the thumbnail images. Also, this effect appears only in mobile mode for module 17. As you can see, the image was cropped to the 696*385 px (as original size) and then, for mobile version this image will be increased with a bit of CSS code, like so -> http://screencast.com/t/1AqsvEEOIMJi and this will lose a bit of quality. So, this is the normal theme behaviour in this case and this was a developer decision to do that. If you do not like this, you will have to change the block/the module. The theme does not have images optimize for Retina logo because in this case it should load 2 different images (one for desktop mode and another one for Retina logo) and this would affect server memory.
Thaks for your understanding!
I completely support this question. Unfortunately this does not only affect mobile, but also the growing number of high definition screens like Macbooks etc.
The thumbnail images in the block look really blurred on my Macbook and this is a pity, because the overall look and feel of the site is suffering from it.
Is it planned to adapt the blocks to the new responsive image support provided by WordPress since the latest version (i.e. include different image versions via srcset)? Because otherwise I would have to rewrite all blocks, which makes the theme practically not maintainable anymore in case of updates.
Hello gci-brandlab,
Please keep in mind that we know about this and we will do some investigation in this regard and in a future update, it is possible to implement some fixes for this but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though.
Thanks for your understanding!
