Visual Composer Not Appearing

I just installed the Newspaper 7 theme and the News Magazine demo. When I go to the page editor, Visual Composer is not appearing — just the stock WordPress composer box filled with the Visual Composer codes. Looks like this: https://snag.gy/e8C5w9.jpg I have disabled all plug-ins, except the plugins that come with the theme (Slider Revolution, Mobile Theme, Social Counter, Visual Composer). I have enabled WP_Debug, and it logged the following errors:

[03-Jun-2016 14:53:09 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined index: description in /home/meteam5/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_block_widget.php on line 135

How can I get Visual Composer to display correctly?

I had a similar problem. First, check the version of Visual Composer, it should be 4.11. If it’s not, then you have to upgrade to it.

First, download the latest version of Newspaper 7. Look for a file called js_composer.zip in the plugin folder. You’ll need this file.

Next, follow the instructions found here:

This should solve your problem.

Hi patagoniajay — Thanks for helping me troubleshoot this. I followed your suggestion, and unfortunately still have the same problem. I confirmed that I am using Newspaper 7.1.1 and Visual Composer 4.11.2 on WordPress 4.5.2.

Hi adam,
The screenshot you provided is in classic mode. Please click the back-end editor and check for the editor. The mobile theme plugin adds a second editor that does not use visual composer, but you will find the standard editor below. Scroll down a bit.
Thank you!

Thanks, Bogdan. Between turning off Visual Editor in my user settings, switching over the Backend Editor, and scrolling down on the page, I was able to get to work with Visual Composer. Thanks for helping me troubleshoot this!
