Full page width slider/carousel

Hey guys,

I’ve just purchased the Newspaper template, as think it fits the bill perfectly for what I’m looking to achieve. The only immediate thing I haven’t spotted yet is if you can have a full page width carousel/slider at the top of the homepage instead of the fixed width boxes?

Any helps/ideas much appreciated.

James

Hello studentmoneysaver,

I guess that you are referring to the carousel size. So, if you want to change this, please check the settings from this element and change the size like this -> http://screencast.com/t/WgY0aRD7n and the results you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/IJ8F8qZpcI

If you refer to something else, please provide more details and some useful screenshots to mention what you want to achieve.

Thanks for the message!

Thanks Catalin, that’s great thanks so much for getting back to me.

I have another question about menu’s. On the Default Newspaper demo theme, when you hover over ‘Lifestyle’ and ‘Gadgets’ in the top menu, you get different styles of dropdown menus. How do you set and customise these?

Thanks.

Hi Catalin,

Unfortunately I didn’t mean changing the font. I meant how do I define which style of submenu displays when you hovver over each main menu item?

So for example how do I select this one:

Or this one:

Also, how do I make the ‘Slide’ block full page width? See at the top of the homepage on my website here.

Basically I’m trying to achieve this…

Hello studentmoneysaver,

Sorry for my above bad understanding. Please notice that here is talking about our mega menu feature. So, if you have a parent category and it has more subcategories, all of these will appears on your mega menu to the right side when you hover over on this and also, if you have a parent category and it has not the subcategories in your menu will appear only 5 posts as in your first image and you do not make any settings because this is the theme behaviour and this is the default style. For more information about mega menu, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/

Unfortunately, our blocks have been designed to be used only the default/standard width of our theme (1068 px) like this -> http://screencast.com/t/O5vkPg5jAT9E Please notice that if you want to achieve that Slider to be in full-width you will have to increase the width of the theme and we do not recommend this. Unfortunately, our theme has not been designed to offers you a way to increase or decrease the width. Please notice that our theme does not have such an option for dynamic width and we do not recommend to do that through the custom CSS code because the layout of the theme will be damaged. If you want to change the width of the theme to be in full-width mode (for example), please notice that is not a simple task and you will have to adjust the entire theme to the new width for better results. If you want to display more levels in our theme and you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!

Another alternative for you if you want to use a slider in full width is to use the Revolution Slider according to documentation here -> https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/slider-revolution-documentation/

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Catalin,

Thanks so much for your response. Really appreciate your help.

I understand re: making the top slider full width. However, is there a way to move the image up to the bottom of the menu bar, as per here:

Also, is there a way to change the actual height of this slider? Can you define a different set of rules for the slider on mobile too, as currently it looks very small on mobile?

Thanks again.

Hello,

I have noticed that you are using the pagebuilder+page title as page template. As a suggestion, if you are not using the title for your pages, you can use the default page template. So, for your case, please try the code below ->

.home .td-crumb-container{
display:none;
}
.td-page-title{
display:none;
}

The result -> http://screencast.com/t/YE1NYytJsZaY

Thanks.
