Controlling which posts show up in the top posts for the categories

on default, the articles that are shown in the top posts are the latest articles. But i was wondering if there was any way i can control which articles are shown in the top articles display on the top of the categories page

As you mentioned above on category page posts are displayed from latest to oldest and unfortunately there aren’t other filters available before the page’s load. You can use this live filter: http://screencast.com/t/mbiGFOTnziXI so the visitor can chose its own filters but the page will load normally for first time.
