For some reason it seems this theme is creating a ton of different sized images everytime I upload a new one. I have the following sizes being created automatically:
100×70
1024×768
1068×580
1068×801
150×150
218×150
265×198
and so on… there are 21 different sizes being created for each photo which is absolutely killing my storage.

I assume that you are referring to the thumbnails which our theme generates them automatically, right? Please notice that the theme uses some thumbnails for your images according to what type of block you are using. You can disable the thumbnails which you do not use from the Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/CTQCxCpst If you disable some of these, the theme will not generate these images and you can save the space from your memory.
If is not what you mean, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Yes, I actually found those settings in the block settings.
I’m not sure if this will be helpful or not but you may want to consider dynamically calling and scaling these photos rather than creating them all as static sizes to reduce fill storage, or at least offer a on/off function to let people choose whether to optimize for page speed or file storage.

Please notice that this is the theme behaviour and in this way the theme has been designed to be used. Please keep in mind that this was developers decision and if in the future will be made some changes in this regard, these will be available in our updates.
