Hello,
In order to use the modal image, you have to link the images to the media file. if your images are external and you did not upoload them to the media library, then the modal image will not work. Also adding links to the image caption also makes the lightbox provide an error. https://forum.tagdiv.com/modal-window/
Thank you!

Hi! I would like to have modal image ON for all general images, but at times we need to have images with hyperlinks. Is there no way of forcing modal image “OF” on these images so that the hyperlink will work?

Thanks in advance,
Anton

Hello Woxxman,

Please notice that the General Modal image option has an important role and this rule will be applied to all your images. So, if you want to have for some images the Modal Image to active and for some images the hyperlink for these, you will have to turn off the General Modal image for your Theme panel and then, the single way would be to manually turn of the modal image for those you want with this option and for the other one you will have to add the hyperlink and turn off the modal image only for images and add your desired link, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/GKt5pSIl

Hope this helps!

Thanks.

Hi Catalin!

Thanks for the response but I have already tried turning it “off” in the image settings but it just gives me errors when clicking the image. 🙁

Try and press the MSI logo in the end of this article.

Hello Woxxman,

Have you disabled the general the modal image from Theme panel? Please try to clear all your caches and test it again.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi again, yes of course it works when general modal image is disabled. But the question was how to get specific images working with external URL’s even when general modal image is activated. 🙂
I’ve cleared the cache but its still the same problem with general modal image active and this specific image set to modal image “off”.

Anton

Hello Woxxman,

Unfortunately, you cannot do that if the General image is activated, but only if it is turned off. I have added this one to our list of improvements and we will consider in next updates.

Thanks for your understanding!
