Global category sidebar overrides default sidebar in specific post.

Hi, I’m having a problem with getting the correct sidebar to show. In the theme’s global categories setting, I set the sidebar there to be “sidebar A”. While editing a specific post of that category, I want to override the global setting by choosing a different sidebar – namely the “default sidebar”, which I believe is the Newspaper default sidebar. However, this post still shows “sidebar A” on the frontend. If I choose any other sidebar in this specific post (for instance “Sidebar B” or “Sidebar C”), those sidebars do show on frontend. Any idea why this might be happening?

Hello,
The default sidebar is not the default sidebar from the widgets area. ‘Default’ in post settings means “inherit”
If you want to have the default sidebar you must chose it like so: http://screencast.com/t/C4KtNl9H4AD
Thank you!

Ah I see. So, in a post setting, choosing the sidebar position that isn’t “default” makes it NOT inherit the category sidebar setting. With this setting, choosing “default sidebar” for custom sidebar makes it choose the default widget sidebar (“Newspaper default” is what it’s called, I believe)?

I tried the above, but am still getting the category sidebar to show instead of the default widget sidebar. The thing that IS working is the sidebar position – for example, if I choose the left position, the sidebar shows up on left.
