Development / Bug Resolution Roadmap

This is directed to the developers 🙂

I love the theme and effort that goes into it – it’s an amazing theme and the bedrock of of our site.

What I was wondering if there could be more transparency around what is going into each release? Bugs are raised in this forum and are often said “fixed in next release” but we often have little way of knowing. Likewise it would be good to be able to provide a means of people suggesting new features that could be voted up/down by the customer base and then the developers accept to be in the next release – essentially a public development roadmap.

This would help with transparency and understanding what gets fixed when and what new features are coming in in future versions as well as allowing us to help influence the direction of the theme as customers.

WP has this concept via: https://wordpress.org/about/roadmap/ & https://wordpress.org/ideas/ and this is common practice for a lot of software and value-add developers.

Just an idea.

Thanks,

Hello Stephan,

Thank you for your suggestion. Actually we do consider implementing such a system in our forum but we have not yet decided how we should go about it. I will pass this information on to the development team and when we decide on what and how we are going to go about it we will announce it on the forum. We do hope we can bring better transparency and a better featured request platform so everybody can benefit from it.

Thank you!

Bogdan – did you guys ever agree on implementing this? Would be awesome to understand what is on the roadmap (and perhaps help provide input).

Many thanks,

Hello,
Unfortunately there were more pressing matters to attend to in this time period. There were lots of essential fixes to be implemented that were more urgent. We have not taken any steps in this forum system yet.

Thank you!
