This is the default global setting section for Post template.
Is there any way to set different post template for different category?
For example, I want all the posts under primary category “Videos” to get the post template “STYLE 11”. Is there any way to set it?
Or the only way to do so is by individually selecting the video post for all “video” posts ?

Unfortunately the theme does not have an option in this regard and for the moment the only way is to set the post template individually for each post from that specific category.

I found it only takes a moment to just open each slider, click the default template I want, go to next, next, next, next, hit save. Never have to do it again. Takes less time to do that than it does to post a ticket here 😉
But after just setting up four sites moving from 1.71 to 3.1, I admit it sure would be nice to be able to set a sitewide default. But I can live with the current option as it really only takes 2 minutes tops to do it.

The reason why I want this is because I usually post video posts so I wanted to have the PLAY button on the featured images of all my articles under that category…
But again, soon I realized that I need to add “Featured video link” too to all such articles hence it won’t solve my problem either.
Stil, my different categories have different needs and probably it will be amazing to have this features by default. But again, this is something I can live without.
