As I read in the forum you cannot recommend a Rss widget because you didn´t test any for the templates,but for a newspaper it is very important to have a Rss feed.
I have installed two different rss widgets and put them in the widget zone without any result, they don´t appear in the website.
suddenly it has started to appear the video links in the category “conferences” and two days ago it looked perfect.
I have tried to correct them , i really don´t know what to correct because i don´t know whta was modified, but still showing the links in the homepage.

Unfortunately I cannot say for sure why the plugins do not work as they are not tested. We do have reports of rss aggreggator to work to some extent so you can give it a try but i cannot say for sure. Sorry.

After working with RSS Aggregator for the past month. I am still unable to get the RSS Aggregator plugin to work. Paid about $200 for all the add-ons and it’s still not working. We really do need to be able to add a newsfeed to a newspaper theme. Hope Tagdiv adds this capability soon.

Unfortunately we have no plan on adding anything rss related for now. Feeds are handled by WP, not the theme. You can try to do a search through this forum for any rss solution others use as we have not tested any of these plugins. Maybe some of our users can have some recommendations.

Hi Rhonda, glad to see I’m not the only one just about $100.00 into add-ons, trying to get over the image hurdle.
Couple comments…
A… wordpress has its own built in rss feeds that dont need plugin, so not quite sure what was meant by it being important for a newspaper theme to have rss feeds … meaning every category and tag and author has built in rss feed automatically
B… if you are trying to import rss feeds from other sites, with permission, feedwordpress is recommended to import the full text and image … we use this along with auto post thumbnail pro plugin to pull in news from send2press.com/wire rss feeds by topic
C… if you just want to show an rss feed on your page from some other site, and only show the items temporarily, there are many rss reader widget plugins that work including the widget included with wordpress

The WP RSS Aggregator plugin did end up working for me. It looks like they also now have a bundle available so you don’t have to purchase the plugins separately.
Just as follow up, we use this on several of our sites for pulling in stuff to the sidebar pointing to one of our other websites; nice since it also caches for awhile not out pinging the other site every time page loads:
