Tagdiv would need to give us a shortcode for the hit counter, which we could then add to the normal filter function you shoukd already have to add shortcode to header or footer.

Basicaly you just need to add this code functions.php file: http://pastebin.com/dNyJK1xc – http://screencast.com/t/YOF1P3SQh The ode was tested on Newspaper theme but the implementation is similar for Newsmag and the code should work the same.

For those not getting it — the pastebin code needs to be added to the main theme functions.php file, typically at the bottom.

The method provided by Lucian worked fine at that time and it also should work now as the code wasn’t changed. I can’t say for sure why the code is not working on your side as the AMP plugin was not tested to work with Newsmag theme and it may be required an additional code.
If you still can’t mange to solve this and you really want to use this plugin my advice is to look for someone who can help you with you with plugin implementation as we can’t offer customization services at the moment.
