403 Forbidden

I am locked out of my site http://www.DorisVisits.com with an error message 403 forbidden entry. Help please

Try via FTP to rename your plugins folder xplugins.

This resets/disables all your plugins so you might be able to login.

Note, before doing any updates *always* check for issues, like Yoast 3.6 has problems. Just because “an update is available” doesn’t mean you need to do it NOW. Also good to turn off automatic updates to avoid “sudden breakage.”

And keep copious backups.

tried that, sadly no luck. Have washed all cookies out too.

I had installed Bookings.com plug in but that was working fine

I had put an HTML page in the route to get an affiliate to verify.

But again, working after that was done.

My Mac died and I tried to get in via PC and that was first time I had message.
I could still get in via my wife’s log in, another administrator, but hers died while editing a page.

now we both get that error

xplugins is done. made no difference.

the only other new thing noticed was that Jean was editing and updating pages I was getting pings, an email to say there was a ping back. I had never had those before.

I’ve checked your site and now it works fine, however I’ve found some js errors in browser’s console: http://screencast.com/t/Gh0uR5rmsv which may affect the site.
If you still have this issue try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using then test the a site again.

Yes Andrel, the site has always worked. It was the forbidden entry to the back end which remained unsoleved with all efforts. I contacted NAMECHEAP and they had updated their firewall and not re white listed all sites. It works again.
