Hello, anything I do, that menu stays like that. sometimes it works just fine, but sometimes I have to F5 the page to get rod of the menu… Is the default settings, no settings imported via demos. Plugins installed: Askimet, Photo Box, Shield, Shortcodes Ultimate, tagDiv Speed Booster,
WPBakery Visual Composer (which sreams for update for a long time btw), and Yoast SEO.

Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using then test the site again.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please provide your site url so we can have a closer look at this issue.

it looks like Photo Box plugin was interfering, do you have any records about this type of incompatibility?

Photo Box plugin is not tested and we can’t say how will work with our theme. We didn’t receive a similar report so far and also I can’t point a solution as I am not aware of plugin’s functionality. Most likely there is a css or js conflict which affect/breaks theme’s functionality.
