I’m a little late to the party, but I am currently using Magazinly on one of my sites and Visual Composer is no longer functioning, nor is in my listed plugins.
How can I move from Magazinly to Newspaper? Are there any noted incompatibilities between the two? And will I be able to re-download the Visual Composer plugin through Newspaper?
Yes, if you buy Newspaper you get a current version of VC. There are obviously differences between the two as far as supported blocks and whatnot.

You can look at the docs here for Newspaper to see the new modules/blocks; you might have to redo some stuff, so good to do screen cap of old page first. I kind of went through that when going from Newspaper to Newsmag; but then going from VC to the beta TagDiv Composer. Suddenly the plain text box had to be the raw HTML box, and so forth. But luckily not too painful 🙂
