I am building a new website using your theme: http://www.pwsna.gr
Under the Theme Panel > ADS
I have added 3 text & display ads and 3 link ads.
Header ad = responsive text & display ad.
Sidebar ad = large skyscraper ad.
Article top ad = link ad.
Article inline ad = link ad.
Article bottom ad = responsive text & display ad.
Custom ad 1 = link ad.
Problem 1: The inline ad appears right after the posts header <h2>
Problem 2: While all ads are set to Auto in the Theme Panel > ADS, the system will always choose 320×100 instead of 728×90, which is the optimal for the post’s width.
Problem 3: The theme converts all link ads to text & display ads. According to AdSense policy 3 of both types are allowed to used simultaneously, this conversion makes the site non-complaint with the AdSense policy.
Could you please help me to overcome those problems?

I have managed to reach my desired results by doing the following:
1. I removed all AdSense link ads from Theme Panel > ADS.
2. I installed a plugin called AdSense Plugin WP QUADS: https://wordpress.org/plugins/quick-adsense-reloaded/
3. I used the plugin for the top and inline ads in posts.
4. I used the settings under Theme Panel > ADS to force the desired sizes.
That solved my problems so the thread may be marked as solved, but I would like to know if there’s is a native way, without other plugins to reach the desired results.

Problem 2: The main content width when using a sidebar is 696 pixels. there is no simple way of adding a 728 pixel width ad in a 696 px widtb container. The way your plugin ads it is by forcing it to go outside the boundries of the main content: http://screencast.com/t/xHpJDZ9PbAu Our theme cannot place a 728 pixels width ad inside a post with a sidebar active.
Problem 3: We have not tested link ads with our theme. We only tested the standard adsense ads. Special types of ads sometimes require special implementation based on the ad recomandation.

Thank you for your fast reply.
I realized that the width is indeed smaller than 728px, but hopefully forcing that size for the “Article bottom ad” looks OK.
I am taking this opportunity to point this out. Since this is the most common banner size of AdSense, wouldn’t it be appropriate for a theme that claims to be AdSense optimized, to allow for such a size in the main part and a 300px on the sidebar?
I would like to clarify this from the very beginning though, I am not complaining or anything… I am just curious why you decided to go for a 696px width when using a sidebar. No sidebar is a rather uncommon layout nowadays and with the most common widths of AdSense being 300px, 728px, 970px, it just doesn’t make sense. A width of 696px is too large for a mobile banner of 320px and it is small for 728px. “Resizable” ads will resize to 696px * 84px making their text unreadable in most cases, while non-resizable ads will show as 320px * 100px leaving 188px of blank space from left and right.
Furthermore, AdSense links are around for centuries and in fact, they are very effective. Without any special types of ads, or special accounts, like AdSense Premium, AdSense allows 3 Ad units and ANOTHER 3 Ad links. Not supporting links, in theory, cuts the potential ad revenue in half and it is definitely a missing feature of an AdSense optimized theme.
Thus, consider a suggestion of mine to add support for AdSense Ad links and possibly widen the main part of the theme to 728px.

Thanks for your suggestion, I’ve added it o our todo list and developers will consider it for future updates. However I can’t promise anything regarding a possible implementation as this task involve changes in theme’s layout and for the moment we don’t plan to make any changes there.
