I use BLOCK3 for showing 5 posts(titles and thumbs) on sidebar like editor’s choice. My problem is it shows random 5 posts from all posts. i mean when i am on a post for example about baby care, i want to see posts about baby care on sidebar too. Is there a way to show related posts with tags on sidebar?
The options doesn’t let me choose by tags. Any help would be appreciated.

The theme have options which allows you to sort post by tags but this is a global settings and won’t consider post’s tag. And alternative would be to create different sidebars for each category/tag.
For example on posts from baby care category/tag you want to display related posts in sidebar. You can create a new sidebar, add a block 3 in it and set it to display posts from baby care category or tag: http://screencast.com/t/mIa70RCVrCbh than use that sidebar for all posts from baby care category/tag.
The same can be done for other categories or tags.

What i want is to show related posts with single post on sidebar. Wanna sort them by tags.
You do it at the widget which is under the post.(related articles widget)
I think it’s not hard to do the same on sidebar too.

This option involve a change in block’s structure as it should work only on single posts, not on pages. We designed the blocks to have the same functionality on all post types and for the moment we don’t plan to change it. In the feature we may add some specific options related with post types but I can’t promise anything for sure. We have a very long list with feature requests and we have to choose carefully what features are added to the theme.

I came here to say I would really like this feature, too. I have too many tags and categories to set up a custom sidebar for each one, and the ability to show dynamic content recommendations would be very useful.
For those who might want to experiment,
we actually use a nifty plugin for quite awhile now called ”
Contextual Related Posts” — which has a sidebar widget, and is nice because it does a cached copy of related items per post in the post meta so actually very efficient.
Can use thumbs, or only text, can be based on cats, content, or tags, I believe.
