changing tagdiv gallery dimensions (bottom of images cut off)

Hi! Great forums here, as they tend to answer everything I’ve searched for. Seem to have a pretty specific question this time around though:

We’re posting galleries on our sites that emphasize photography. So we drop the sidebars (no sidebars) and then try to predominantly just have the gallery in a post. However…

Our images are being cut off at the bottom as a result of the media grid, as seen here: http://imgur.com/j3bQwnU

I’d like for the gallery to resize around the image so that the bottoms are included. You can see here that it’s missing a large portion of the actual image: http://imgur.com/iTK3F40

Is there a way to have it auto-size around the images in that initial gallery (before clicking the image and having it pop out)? Or maybe we could drop the media grid at the bottom some how?

Thanks so much!

Hello thespokenword,

Please keep in mind that our theme uses a specific system for cropping images which are from center to top It seems that your images do not fit the thumb and that’s why your images are cropped from the bottom. As a quick solution, please notice that you should cutting the top of the image and then re-add to your media library, clear all your caches and check the results.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Thanks for the quick response.

We actually have several galleries where this is the issue, so is there not a more consistent workaround? Otherwise we’re essentially re-uploading hundreds of photos and future photos are uploaded with the gallery mechanics in mind, rather than the actual image that is desired to be displayed.

Is there no way to disable the crop in galleries? Or to drop the media grid? Thanks again!

Hello thespokenword,

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option that allows you to disable the cropping system, sorry! If you want to do this, please notice that you should check the theme code and do some changes which involve custom work. Please notice that if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!
