I have several categories that I use for keeping track of the editing/review process. I have checked “HIDE CATEGORY ON POST AND ON CATEGORY PAGES” in the theme panel, but they are still showing up and now they are all over Google.
Hello RochdaleHerald,
Please notice that this type of option has been designed to hide the category only from the front end. The Google boot will treat all the theme code and will be interpreted, sorry! Please notice that this is the theme behaviour and the theme options available and if you want to change something like and or you want to display more levels in our theme and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for the message and for your understanding!
Hi @RochdaleHerald,
Use noindex/follow attributes for that category
But it isn’t hiding it from the front end. The categories are still clearly visible on posts. It isn’t working.
Forget about the Google thing, I understand how to stop that.
As you can see from the image, I have specified that the category be hidden from the front end, but it is still being shown.
