About Size of base.js

Hi,

i have newsmag theme, and i try to have smaller size of homepage.
But i noticed that, when i send request to my homepage, browser is sending another request to that url : https://s.ytimg.com/yts/jsbin/player-tr_TR-vflMTWZ__/base.js

What is it for? is it for youtube player?

And can it be smaller than 430KB? My homepage is 1.8MB already. This js file is 430 KB of it.

İs there another way to fix this problem without any loss of any feature?

At least if you can answer for the what is it for, maybe i can quit to use this feature…

Hello ozandokuz,

Unfortunately, I cannot find any references to this script from theme files. Please provide your website URL so we can further inspect it closer and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. First of all, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

I believe it’s to generate youtube images, and might be used for ads, or VC to generate thumbs from videos.

I think it’s a YouTube video trying to store Flash data in web browser.

This is likely due to ads, or ads being served with videos from YouTube.

Google is somewhat helpful:

search “what is ytimg.com”
