Hello,
I was wondering, is it possible to use the more article box to be a session based capture email box instead?

Hello,
Unfortunately the element is not customizable like that. it was created to show posts. They are hard-coded in the theme files. You can alter the functionality if you have the proper php knowledge, but I cannot provide any solution to alter the more article box functionality.
