hi

You have provide instructions for update via WP (quote below).

However, currently the active theme is Newsmag Child, so your instructions don’t make sense, as “newsmag theme” is not active anyway. Please provide instructions with active child for upgrade.

Step 1 – Deactivate the current “Newsmag” theme from the Appearance > Themes section by simply activating a different theme. Once you activate a different theme, delete the Newsmag theme. Don’t worry, your content will not be lost.
Step 2 – Get the “Newsmag.zip” file from your new Themeforest download (Installable WordPress file only). If you downloaded the “All Files & Documentation” from Themeforest, then you need to unzip the archive file you received, the Newsmag.zip will be inside it.
Step 3 – Go to Appearance > Themes, choose Add New Theme, Upload the “Newsmag.zip” and click on the “Install Now” button.
Step 4 – After your upload is finished, choose Activate the theme.
Step 5 – Update the plugins. The theme required and recommended plugins are included in the theme package inside the ../Newsmag-tf/plugins folder.

Hi
I’m using too a child theme

in that case you simply have to update the files in the directory newsmag on your server

using child theme is a good solution because you can update the theme’s files without affect the child theme files

for that you have to install the themeforest kit – but I’m not very informed about it
you can simply update the theme using FTP

faster and simpler
