I have 970 “404” errors on my website. (Bukvar.net)

All the links have http://www.paypal.com in the end. Please see below:

Do you have any advice how to fix those errors and find out what is causing this.

Funny you say that, today I have received a report from Google Console and its saying the same thing to me.
363 crawl errors all of a sudden.

I have the same issue but urls end with facebook.com and twitter.com

Updated the permalinks but still have a growing number of 404.

Always good to use the Google tools to *look* at the 404s, and see WHERE the links originate. For example, if some dumb bot site created ad links in social using your page content, and link to you for social spam — it’s not your site causing the errors, but 404s generated because bad links are being built pointing at your site. That situation has nothing to do with theme.

Suggest looking at the source of the inbound links causing the errors. With some back tracing and such you can block the IPs, you can also check to ensure your site content doesn’t load in iframes (redirect to top window, which we do on our main business site; this stops social spam from click-jacking our content with ad iframe above our content frame, etc).

Also note that in various plugins and such, you need to put full URLs to things … like https://www.facebook.com/whatever

not just

facebook.com/whatever

Hello Matija,

If you do not find them, how can I help you if I do not see these errors? Please provide some useful screenshots with these errors, provide more information about these so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thanks for the message!

Hi

Last night I was able to find the spam code in my functions.php in wp-includes folder…that was the reason for my troubles as it appears

I know that the theme is well secured but I was just trying to find solution asap 🙂

Hi,

Glad you found it. It is difficult for us to guess the issue without an example. We can only test our theme in it’s default state. We did not get any such errors so we could not recreate the error. That is why Catalin asked for a few examples so we can see the errors and try to figure out where they come from.

Have a nice day!

Matija,

Could you please share the code so I can check my site for this spam code.
