I’m using Newspaper 7 (black version), with Buddy Press and bbPress. My aim is for most users to be limited to the bbPress / BudyPress functionality without access to the WP Dashboard. However, I do need some users to moderate the bbPress forums, and a small group of users who are bloggers for the news component of the site.
When users login, they get two top menus (the native wordpress menu and the theme top menue.)
Additionaly, authenticated users gain access to the native wordpress dashboard, when I ultimately want to limit some users (most of them) to posting in the forum and manageing their BudyPress profile.
To counteract this, I installed “WP Admin No Show” plugin (as was suggested on one of the forums here–I think) which worked great in removing the native WP menu bar altogether…with one exception: Users also lacked access to the Buddy Press menu and thus couldn’t edit their profiles, check notifications, and so forth.
So I uninstalled the plugin. Following the uninstall, the double top menu became a perminant feature of the site regardless of whether a user was logged in or not.
Is this a setting somewhere that I’m unaware of? Perhaps it is a reaction to Buddy or bbPress? Possibly an issue with WP Admin No Show plugin? This is a fresh install, so the issue should seemingly only reside in these few components.

This is simply resolved by the wordpress user roles. Here are the user roles and capabilities used by wordpress and our theme.: https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities
Simply convert your users to subscribers so they do not have access to the dashboard.
