How can i keep a featured Post in the homepage without letting it apply as background image ? Please help me with this.

Please provide more details to how you are implementing the featured posts on the homepage. There is only 1 element that will use the featured image as a background on pages and that is the homepage post element. If you want to add an image on the homepage you can use the single image element in visual composer. If his image is the featured iamge from a particular post, you can use one of the theme blocks and filtered to only show one particular post from the block settings
