Problems in running Revolution Slider

Hi there,

I installed the provided version of Revolution Slider via ZIP-Upload. It’s working in itself but your Plugins-Overview at the Newspaper menu section (page=td_theme_plugins) still shows “optional” for Revolution slider, not “activated” as for Visual Composer.

Didn’t the theme recognize the plugin installation? If so, how can I fix it?

I imported all example sliders but can’t get one of them to work at the start page of my blog. I have no idea how to run a given slider as you show it in your demo blogs – your slider tutorial ends at this point, only plugin installation is described. Or did I miss a continuing tutorial?

Thank you in advance for any help

Hello,

Please read these guides:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos/
You can ignore the “activation” or registration messages as the free bundled version of the plugin cannot be registered.

If you need tutorials on how to use the plugin, you will have to read the plugin docs or check the instructional videos on the author homepage

Thanks

Thank you for the theme punch link.

My question more precise: Shouldn’t there be an “active” instead of “optional” at Revolution Slider after installing the plugin?

I installed and activated the travel blog demo. Shouldn’t there be a place for choosing a slider? Some demo sliders are installed and inside the Revolution Slider config area they’re working fine.

Hello,

Revolution slider 5 is a big plugin and it cannot be activated from the theme panel. It has to be activated manually. As for the sliders, you can import a theme slide and then apply it to your pages or posts.

Thanks.

Hi there,

thanks for your answer. After a few days of testing, I still don’t know how to apply a slider on my start page as in your example here: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blog_travel/

Applying a slider to a post or page works so far, but I don’t need it. I would like to show a slider at the main page.

Hello,

After you create or import the slider, access visual composer and use the revolution slider element like so:

I hope this helps.
Thanks

I can’t find the options shown in your screenshot. As far as I know there is no option to edit the front page of a WordPress blog, it just shows a list of the newest blog articles.

I want to place the slider on this front page (as you show it in your demo … that’s why I bought your theme), not on a single page I created.

[And it still confuses me, that the slider plugin is marked with “optional” and not “installed” (as described in my 2nd post).]

Any idea how we can solve the problem?

Hello,

It seems you do not have revolution plugin installed on your end. Please use this guide to install it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/
Please read the rest of the documentation as it will provide valuable info you are going to need in order to create your site using our theme.

Thank you!

I used your installation guide, the plugin is running:

Is it necessary to “connect” the plugin to the theme in any way?

Hi,

No it does not require any further implementation for the revolution slider to work. There could be a plugin conflict preventing it;s functionality though. Please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and investigate.
Please also include a link to this topic so we can identify you.

Thank you!

Hi there!

Or: Should I create a page, add a slider on this page and define it in WP-settings as the start page? Is there a short code to show blog entries, I can put on a page?

Hello,

You can set any page as a homepage from the WordPress settings. You can set the page using visual composer to add a revolution slider element, content blocks , images or any other elements provided by the theme. After you set your page you can then set it as a homepage like so: https://www.screencast.com/t/YyEQh6SF7b

Thank you!

Oh, wow! It works. 🙂
Visual Composer is a really powerful tool.

I’ve never learned more about WordPress than in the last few weeks. Thank you for your patience and your advices …!
