Afternoon,
Small issue with the smart lists. The featured image disappears after the first slide. Is that supposed to happen?

Yes, but the image is back once you get to slide 1 again. Try to go back and you will see the image again. The featured image in the smart list you use does not have a sticky featured image. Please check our official demo under the ‘features’ menu items and inspect the different smart lists:
