Before, if I still added a featured image on a video post, that would override the video thumbnail and show up on the front page/search archives/etc. Now, even if I add a featured image, it will default to the Video thumbnail of whatever vid I’m embedding. Is there a way to switch back?

You should remove the URL video and add again in that field and the Featured image will be generated again using the cover image of your video added.

No, that’s not what I meant.
My problem is that I do not want the *video* thumbnail to be used as the featured image. For example, the thumbnail on YouTube is becoming the featured image of the blog post when I make it the featured video.
Before, I could add a featured video *and* featured image, and the theme would prioritize whatever photo I uploaded as featured image. Now, even if I add both, it just takes the YouTube thumbnail and makes that the post thumbnail across the site.
How can I switch back to it prioritizing the featured image I designate instead of defaulting to the video’s thumbnail?
1. Edit your post with video.
2. Try set again your own Featured image from Media Library.
3. Save post.
