Hello, I’m publishing to Apple News and notice that when I publish articles, my YouTube videos are stripped from the code passed to Apple for some reason. It is my understanding videos are supported so long as they’re embedded. What I’m noticing is the featured image only is pulled into the article. When I look at the JSON code, there’s no reference to the video which is in fact part of the post. Is anyone else having this issue and/or know how to fix? Thanks.

Hi Bogdan, I think part (maybe all) of the problem is that when I look at the text/HTML code of any post in WordPress, the video link is not included in the code, anywhere when using a video vs. standard post.
That would make sense that Apple can’t render the video because it is pulling this same content from the editor.
So my question is why is the youtube url that we enter in the featured video / post section not visible in the HTML/text view within the editor?

This is because the featured video is a custom made implementation we created and it does not show up in the main content. An alternative for this would be not to use the featured video and simply add the video as an embedded video inside the content. Add a featured image manually and set the post style to style 5 that will not show the featured image above the main content. This way the video will be inside the content.
