Hi TagDIv,
Let’s look at this post: https://tomatoheart.com/niti-jha/tanmay-bhat-aib-facts/’
Look at the list point 2,7,9 and 11 .. these image looks smaller here. As you know, whenever we upload an image, there is an original version of it, and there are medium, thumbnail, large versions of it based on your media settings, and then there are options to re-size any in-content images by dragging up and down from the corner.
Whatever size you actually put on the content, it gets displayed likewise when published. It works like this in all other default posts and various templates but not on smart lists.
No matter what sizes you choose under smart list, it always shows the original version. But this makes our article images look non-symmetrical and ugly. How can we display images the way we re-size images under these smart lists?
Please help me solve this issue.
If you are unable to understand the issue. Ask me again to re-clarify it.
Thank you so much.
Hi,
The theme does not enlarge the images to be of the required size used in a smart list for example, if that is what you are asking. Make sure that the images you are using in your smart list are of a minimum of this width size – https://www.screencast.com/t/RXX4nBmkHgLx I see that the pictures you are using in that smart list are not of this minimum size – https://www.screencast.com/t/vSpeW5p53 – https://www.screencast.com/t/kWACH62MDE Add the images in full size when creating your smart list – https://www.screencast.com/t/lp658GBHp so they will all be of the same width inside the smart list content – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/smart-list-style-2/
Thanks
Hi, you get it right.
This image re-size issue is with smart lists only, not on other post types. And it’s not just about the small size, even if I have uploaded an 800*500 image and I want it to be of medium size ( medium size set under media section for 600px width), it will still take the original size.
You have confirmed that it happens with smart lists. But why? We need the default media features here as well because many of smart-lists used to be fact base and hence we need to choose historical images, and mostly we don’t get high-quality images from old days.
SO, I request you not to restrict us using the default media features on smart lists as well.
Thank you.
Hi,
I understand what you are saying but this is the way the smart lists were designed and there are 8 styles to choose from. These smart list styles use this thumbnail size – https://www.screencast.com/t/RXX4nBmkHgLx or this – https://www.screencast.com/t/tncjvT6Bt It will display the image using the thumb size used in the smart list, as explained above only if the original image size permits it. So if you have a smaller image then the minimum required thumb like you said, it will be displayed in the original size like in your case. You could just use another smart list style, like smart list style 3 which uses a medium thumbnail size for the images.
Thank you for understanding!
