I’m sorry but this theme is INCOMPATIBLE with Buddy Press. I’ve installed buddy press, and multiple pages (Activity, Group home) are completely buggy (missing parts like footer, sidebar, styling, etc).
Apparently this is a legacy issue/old bug that never got fixed. Either way it’s false advertising to say that this theme is compatible with buddy press when out of the box it causes issues.
Not to mention, code hacks are needed to get the avatars to match up

Please provide some examples and more details of the problems you are having with the Buddy press plugin so we can investigate this issue. Maybe you have some other plugins that could be interfering, so try to deactivate all the plugins except Visual composer and Buddy Press, clear the cache and check again.

Thanks for reply SIm. I gave up on this issue and just used a hack to hide all the avatars, which is a pretty ugly fix. The crux of the problem is that Buddy Press’ user avatar + menu and Newspaper theme’s custom topbar avatar does not sync up, as would be expected. BP adds their avatar on the admin top bar separate from Newspaper’s. Whether it’s a Buddypress issue or not Idk, but I’d bet 99% of users would like / were expecting the theme’s avatar and buddy press avatar to be the same avatar or it becomes redundant. So yeah I guess Buddy press is compatible, but it seems making it look normal requires ugly fixes/hacks on the core files.
