Hello,
When using newspaper theme with php 7.1.3 and when upload images on posts there is issue because images not changes sizes (on grids and posts) and stay on original dimensions.
This issue is here only when using php 7.1.3. When using theme on php 5.6.30 everything is okay.

I don’t think it’s updated to work with 7.1.x only 7.0x

Thank you for answer. I did not try to use php 7.0.x so I switch back to 5.6.30.
