How do I set-up Contributor roles for them to be able to Add Posts?
I assigned a Contributor role to a User but nothing happened….

Hi,

I do not know what is supposed to have happened. The “Contributor” has the capability to create a post and submit it for review before it can be published. This is what options a contributor has available

This is according to the WordPress default user roles – https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities that the theme uses. What you are looking for is an “Author” role, as they have the capability to create and publish a post and have access to the post templates as well.

1. Ok. How does a Contributor have access or better said where do they go to add a Post a New Post as per your screencast?
2. Same question for the Author?

I as Admin to add a post go to the Dashboard and then Add New Post but I do not see that either a Contributor or Author have access to the Dashboard. ????

If you create a ‘user’ account, the user then needs to login to the WP admin panel as that user, and then that user (contributor/author) can create posts. Then when you login as admin, you will see the posts as pending, which you can then publish/make live.

That is not managed by the theme in any way, so you might want to spend some time with the basic WordPress.org codex (‘docs’) to better understand how that works — it’s not managed by the theme and so kind of up to you to educate yourself on how WordPress works.
