WPBakery Visual Composer Enable/Disable

Does this plugin need to be running if you’re using certain areas of the template like the slide? I was testing my speed and noticed that the plugin takes a decent time to load up but noticed that when I disable it, my theme gets a bit mixed up and shows alot of code for example:
[vc_row][vc_column width="2/3"]
[/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id="td-homepage-right"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
When I activate it again, it goes back to normal. (I’m trying to limit plugins)

WPBakery Visual Composer Enable MUST be enabled in order correctly display the contenc of the pages.

we did not create the WPBakery Visual Composer, we purcease it and integrated into the theme.
