I nee help with the Homepage. I have been trying for a long time now.
Two questions:
1. How do I get add a Big slide on the Homepage?
2. How to I get the background image for the Big slide to go full with?

1. You can add a Big slider on a page using the page builder like this: http://screencast.com/t/EDKurv0oosEI
Or in your case you can chose a template like Homepage – with articles or without the articles list, this way the big slider will be added to your page http://screencast.com/t/TmQxHqjEV
2. To have the full width layout for the background you will have to disable your site background, the only way you will get a boxed layout is when you use a background, go to Theme Panel > Theme Colors > Background Color or Theme Panel > Background > Background settings and set then to default.
Also I have noticed you are using the 3.9.1 themes version, I suggest you move to latest version 4.1, we have added new features using images https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/newspaper-v-4-0-topic/#post-15809
