I believe I followed the instrctions on adding my Facebook App Id and Security Key to the widget but when I click on the Get Access Token nothing happens-it just goes into a spin=Please Wait mode. Please advise??? What could the issue be?
I was able to add my Twitter id and it works well.

You should also update the social counter. Disable and delete the current social counter you have installed and then install it again from the main theme package you download from envato.

The absolute best and safest way is via FTP as you do not rely on other apps to copy over the files for you. Basically what an update does is simply delete your theme and install it again. It is a very easy thing to do. Simply access the files delete them and upload the new ones. Automatic processes can fail at times. The automatic process is the least safe, then comes wordpress, then the safest is ftp

I did not update Theme nor Social Counter but the Facebook Social Counter does display now-see here. I click on it and it takes me to the FB page.
1. What does this mean?
2. Is it working?
3. The number of “followers/likes” does not show. Are they supposed to?

It means it works partially. Your facebook page is not set to public. Please make your facebook page public as the social counter needs to have access to the likes without logging in to facebook.

I did as told and did set my FB Page to public but
1. Facebook Access Token Get Access still says “Please Wait” in widget still says Please wait. Is this Access Token needed? What is it?
2. I clicked on the FB button, it did take me to the FB page, I Liked it but I don;t see a 1 on the FB button. ???

Without the access token, it will not work. It is required for the plugin to connect to FB. If you cannot generate the access token it means you did not update the plugin. Please delete it and install this one: http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/td-social-counter.zip Then try to generate the access token again

Please clear the browser cache as well. If you use chrome press ctrl + shift + delete and select these entries:
