Hello, All –
The “Big Grid” on my home page keeps requesting a missing image:
../themes/Newspaper/images/thumb-disabled/td_1920x0.png
I have checked the directory and no such image file exists.
As a result, the largest image on the grid remains blank.

You need to enable that size in the theme panel for modules/images.
See theme docs for more info.
In the theme panel you can enable/disable different image sizes not being used for modules; however conversely you need to turn some images ‘on’ for an image to be made from your featured image.
