Anyone that needs that feature of auto loading next post vote here so the dev team include that feature @ next theme updates 🙂

Hello,

We are already aware of this and we already have many requests in this regard but unfortunately due to the way our theme is built, we have not found any viable solution for this yet. We are still looking for solutions in this regard.

Thank you!

I would like to vote for this as well! Love the theme, and would love this feture to be added!

Also does the pagination post, that was mentioned in an earlier request about Auto Load Next Post, is there a way that when it goes to the next page in the post, it would reload the ads on the page?

Like this http://collider.com/american-gods-explained/
and as you scroll the URL changes with #anchor tags, but it also loads new ads. Is this possible on the theme?

Hello,

Sorry but for the moment there is no simple way of having infinite loading on posts or reloading of the ads.

Thanks.

It’s really necessary now. I see almost all new modern themes and sites have this option now. Kindly look for a workaround.

Thanks.

I vote ‘no’ as I hate ‘infinite load’ sites as they often crash mobile devices, and lock up desktop version waiting on ads to reload again. I personally stop going to such sites (try Automobilemag.com on an iPad to see what I mean!).

If it matters so much, simply build a script that triggers ajax load of “next post ID” when the scroll bar hits a certain target. Or, try one of the many canned solutions already out there …

e.g., https://wordpress.org/plugins/ajax-load-more/

(etc.)

my vote = NO

I get what Chris says and also think that a lightweight decent way of loading more posts from a chosen category / filter (not just the next post) would be a good idea. However, I would first request TagDiv to resolve some existing issues that I have been reading after launching td composer. As a principle, it is good to have an issue-free theme than a buggy, feature loaded theme. Newspapers has enough features and has done excellent in the past. In order to continue with the tradition they need to focus on excellence more than abundance. Having said this, I certainly would like to have the auto load more posts feature in the theme but not at the cost of excellence in what it has. Hope I am clear. Thanks all.

Hello,
Stability is our main concern. The theme is stable as it is now. People have all sorts of issues because of the way they used the theme. Most of them used special row settings in visual composer that are not available in the new page builder. We have found very few theme related bugs but very many user specific errors and hick-ups due to plugins, custom implementations or simply wrong use of visual composer.
The auto-load unfortunately comes at great cost as it will create many problem with the post templates and as you said, it is better to have a quality product rather then provide lots of buggy options. We have not found a viable/suitable way of implementing the infinite loading for posts.

Thank you!

I agree with what Chris is saying but then there are few websites like https://chaaipani.com who is using it very effectively.

LOL … I just went to a company website to get their contact info for a follow up, kept scrolling down, would see the footer links for second, then more stuff would load, scroll down, scroll down… more stuff — had to get five sets of reloads of full length page just to see the footers. Ugh. Man I hate that!!

I am not arguing one way or another on the idea; just saying my personal vote would be No. (or, Hella no!) 😉

Ha ha ha… I totally get that but this is how they get more visits on their site. It’s not a black hat but it gives results like that 😀 :D.

My main point was to tell you that site works smooth even with infinite loading.

Here is a working version of auto load next post with Newspaper theme.

Hey @petr00kos

Wow! Yes. Thanks for sharing this.

But it would be awesome if you can share the customization code that you need to do for it. It will be a great help for this community.

PS: I believe you own this website. 🙂

Thank you.

Post count: 35

i do not own this website, i gave just an idea for the dev team to implement the feature that 95% of theme users need as soon as possible!

Post count: 436

Thanks for responding Daemonlynx.

Yeah, that’s true.

There are dozens of threads here asking for the same feature request and there must be a thousand others who want it but didn’t start a thread or comment.

I understand that adding a fully working feature needs an update but with these clues, the TagDiv team should at least attempt to help us at least in a temporary way.

Let’s wait for the day, any nice dev team member put their hands on it. 🙂

Cheers.

Welll.. that site is clearly using a WP plugin, so you could be doing so right now, as I noted previously 😉

This is the actual plugin they are using there:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/auto-load-next-post/

Post count: 35

Yeah Chris, but plugin doesn’t work well 🙂 The theme needs custom modifications so the auto load next post plugin ll be able to work smooth and fine. So we are waiting for the dev team to embed this feature to the theme 🙂

Post count: 9544

Ha. Long wait, methinks.

Hi Chris,
Yes, I am aware of that but it needs little extra customization for it to work on the Newspaper theme.

In a separate thread here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/need-little-help-with-most-demanded-auto-load-next-post-thing/ , I Have clearly explained what we need to customize under this plugin as I couldn’t do it myself because of limited coding knowledge.

And sadly any TagDiv members didn’t appear to help with this.

One another great tool for this is: https://infinite-scroll.com/ These are the behind great old plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/infinite-scroll/ . This plugin is outdated though, but their JS on the site is updated.

See if you can do some magic ( Even though you hate it. 🙂

Thank you.

Interesting https://www.autoblog.gr/2017/04/17/mercedes-amg-a45-vs-volkswagen-golf-r/

It seems currently the plugin Auto Load Next Post v1.4.9 is not able to read the ‘Post Navigation’.
I’ll be testing a bit, but somehow it is weird.

Hi @frankmulder-media,

Yup, it’s true that these people don’t support Newspaper theme publically because the codes at Newspaper theme are different than the standard WordPress code and sadly, they will never be able to do so publically ever because of the same reason.

The case is similar with any other ThemeForest purchased the theme, not only Newspaper theme.

For me, https://www.autoblog.gr/2017/04/17/mercedes-amg-a45-vs-volkswagen-golf-r/ is working almost smoothly here on my google chrome browser.

If you are a developer, do give it a look.

Or you may want implement codes from https://infinite-scroll.com/ as well.

Thanks.

Was looking at this plug-in and can get it to work. However their “category exclude” feature does not work, so infinite scroll will load all posts chronologically.

Do you recommend any other plugins, canned solutions?

Post count: 436

Hi@joeydekoning,

Thanks for the comment.

If you have gone through this thread fully or have read other threads on this ‘infinite scroll thing’, you must have figured out that we ( includes many the Tagdiv community members) are still trying to figure out like how we can make this work even if we can’t exclude some categories.

So, if you have already figured out some configuration for this plugin, kindly share the solution with the community members here or in the thread- https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/need-little-help-with-most-demanded-auto-load-next-post-thing/

Also, I am not sure on which plugin you have actually worked. on https://infinite-scroll.com/ ( Plugin : https://wordpress.org/plugins/infinite-scroll/ ) or https://wordpress.org/plugins/auto-load-next-post/ ??

If you are a developer and have already tried one of these, try other to get what you want.

PS: Don’t forget to share the solution with the Tagdiv forum community. Thank you.

This is a necessary question. We are seeing how competitive websites use these features that Google is rewarding for page views
