My client is seeing the html code for their Youtube video in the search results and also on the page. I can’t replicate the page, but it is definitely showing in the search results. Are we suppose to use a different post type when including a Youtube video?

Hello kdannay,
Yes, if you want to use a post with Video, you should check the “Video” format option from the post editor, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/rvn9YKD1wh9C
Thanks for the message!
Hi Catalin,
I checked the Video box in the post as suggested, and then cleared the cache, and I still see the HTML code. Is there something else I should do? Ideas?
Note, the client mentioned that the HTML code is showing (not on the individual page) but in search results or in listing of posts.
Thanks
K

Hello kdannay,
I guess that you are referring to the Youtube URL video which appears on the Excerpts, right? Notice that thing happens due if your post begins with a YouTube video, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/noBT098en The Excerpts function will take over the youtube link and display at your block as an excerpt. As a quick solution, if you want to avoid this, you should set up a custom excerpt for this type of post, from post editor, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Htw92KR2 and here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/uktic02d5MZD you should insert your custom excerpts.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
You can try the solutions mentioned in this topic, and edit the file in the theme mentioned in order to make the video automatically start when the post page is opened

Just use the code provided in the required file, and make sure to enter it exactly as it is shown in the screenshots.
Thanks
