Hi,
Sorry but the theme will only crop images, it will not enlarge them. You seem to be using a YouTube video though. Some YouTube videos add the black borders around the thumbnail.
As for the images that do not fit, please make sure your image is at least the size of the container as the theme will not enlarge them. If your images are indeed larger, use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
