Just trying to make the latest article content that is prebuilt appear above the rest of the content.

Hello junaiddar,
The quick solution in this regard is to change the page template to a default one and at the top of your homepage, you should use a block which you like to be your Latest Articles (the block will be set by latest) and then, the rest of your homepage you can setup as you wish.
